Week 4

Hello everyone! This week was pretty much just like last week, the only difference is that we started Swedish immersion. This has been fun but very challenging. I've been trying my best to keep up with my district but they are all so smart! To be honest I was struggling with comparing myself to those in my class until some of the sister suggested that we listen to a BYU devotional by J.B Haws called “wrestling with comparisons" . I recommend you all listen to it, it has helped me an awful lot this week.

In other news, everything is great! I’m learning more and more everyday and its been a blast. I finally got the chance to play some basketball this week and it was truly therapeutic. I’ve found that my one hour of exercise time everyday is one thing I always look forward to.

One really cool experience that I get to be involved in is that this week is the training for the new mission presidents! There should be a lot of general authorities around campus starting today through Sunday I think. The really cool thing about all these new mission presidents is that my new mission president, President Lake, will be here! I get to meet him and his wife sister Lake later today, but I won’t be able to tell you guys until next week. Hopefully it’s a good experience. Also my old stake president (president Stratton) is going to be on campus because he is being trained to be the mission president for the Flagstaff Arizona mission. Hopefully I get to see him too.

It's been really cool to see friends and family around the MTC lately! It's definitely a tender mercy to get the chance to see some of them again before we are separated for two years.

One thing I’ve been trying to work on this week is strengthening my testimony in the Book of Mormon. I’ve watched Jeffery R Holland’s talk, “Safety for the Soul" at least three times this week (I would also recommend watching this too, it's good stuff) . I want to be able to testify of Christ and His divinity like Elder Holland can.

Thanks for all the prayers! Love you all- Elder Calder
