Baptism, gun, and exchanges
This week has been so much fun. I still can't believe that I'll be going to Sweden after this transfer! But until then I need to keep working hard here and make the most of my time here. I've seen so many miracles this week!
Miracle one- Our friend Parker had his baptism on Saturday! It was super spiritual and I'm so proud of him and how he wants to follow Jesus Christ. I was able to give a talk at his baptism about what it is and what it means and it was cool.
Miracle two- Elder Joyner and I went on exchanges with one of our zone leaders Elder Crotts. It was a great experience. We literally had a day packed full of miracles, but I'll put 3 of my favorite ones right here.
1- we were able to find this lady to teach named Jessica. She has been going through such a hard time in her life. She told us all about the struggles. We taught her the restoration and about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and you could see the joy it brought her. She is now on date to be baptized and its such a blessing. God prepares people for us to find, we just need to go do the work!
2- after we talked to Jessica we talked to another lady and got her to come to church on Sunday! What a miracle
3- lastly we knocked a random door and we found a lady named Adrian. On her way to open the door, she had slipped and hit her head. This happened because she has a broken foot and ankle, yikes. We asked her if we could come in and offered a priesthood blessing to her. I was able to give this random lady a blessing and it was incredible to feel God's love for her through me. He really is there and actually does love each of us. We had a super spiritual experience with teaching her about the priesthood and our church. We set up a time to come back and meet with her and her 3 children. Seriously a miracle!
Miracle three- there have obviously been many more than three miracles but this last one I think is pretty funny/scary. So as missionaries we are supposed to be out knocking doors and teaching people from 5-9. It was like 8:55 and we were getting ready to go home, and I felt like we should knock just one or two more doors. We said a prayer of which house to knock and one really stuck out to me. On our way over there was a sign basically saying to not knock on the door for any reason. But like cmon I'm gonna still knock. So I did and this woman answered with a gun in her hand haha. She loaded it in front of us and told us to get off her property or she would call the cops. I was able to talk to her for a second and quickly tell her why we were knocking her door. Because we want to share this great message that has helped our lives so much. She didn't care. The miracle though is that she didn't shoot me lol but also that I was able to still preach and testify, it definitely wasn't me. I would've been scared to death and left immediately, but God worked through me to testify still to this woman. Anyways idk why He had me do that but everything happens for a reason I guess.
This week I've been thinking a lot about Prophets and how lucky we are to have one on the earth today. Everybody listen to big Russ!
