"Jag har inte tid" - literally every Swede
Hey everyone! Life is good up here in Sweden! I'm not really sure how to start this so we're gonna just start typing and see where this goes haha.
This week has been really good! Me and Elder Sannemann have been grinding up here. We had to drop a lot of our friends this week because many of them weren't progressing which has been a little hard. Our APs told us though that faith to drop is faith to find new people so we have been hitting the streets HARD. This has been super fun. I wish I would've counted how many times we heard "jag har inte tid" which means "I don't have time". We heard it constantly! Swedes are so funny though because they are all antisocial. They put their big headphones on and their heads down and they get so shocked when we stop and talk to them. A lot of them prentend they didn’t see us and just keep walking.
When we stop and talk to people, some people really open up and we have the opportunities to have cool lessons with people on the street. I love that.
Sometimes i catch myself feeling like a salesman and that is really tough for me. I feel like I'm trying to just catch people and convince them of something. I have to remind myself that I'm not a salesman! I am a representative of Jesus Christ and my job is to love and treat everyone like Jesus would. If i just try my best to present people with truth, God will make up the rest. The Holy Ghost will do the convincing. That might be a super random thought but its something thats been on my mind.
We met one guy this week named Ulle. We ran into him and the first thing he said was "yall aren't gonna snitch on me right" and immediately i was intrigued. We got to talking and he had just finished doing some graffiti. He told us about his life and how he felt like God was trying to reach out to him. He shared how tough his life has been with drugs and thats hes been homeless since 14. We continued on and had a good conversation, then he proceeded to tell us he was high outta his mind. It was a good convo tho haha and we're praying that he calls us back or responded to us.
We got to give a women in our ward a blessing yesterday because she wasn't feeling great and it was cool. The only downside was that my nose started bleeding on the walk to her house which was a little awkward. Idk if it was just a random thing or because it was -18 Celsius but yeah. The blessing was good and on the walk back we ran into a member (that does not happen very often haha) and we were able to talk to her for awhile. Miracle!
Church yesterday was awesome because it was the primary program so it was adorable. Our primary of about 10 kids killed it!
I think thats all for this week, i hope you guys had a good week!
