Kalmar? Nah Caldermar
I decided this week that my area right now (which was previously named Kalmar) is now Caldermar🤷♂️
In all seriousness though this week was actually really good!! We are getting things going in this area.
Right now we have 3 members here, so every Wednesday we go to one of their houses and have a fika together and give them the sacrament! It was actually so funny. These old ladies argue with each other and can barely hear things when people talk and it is so so so much fun to be with them. They joke around but they all have super strong testimonies of the sacrament and Jesus Christ.
For some reason people here in Caldermar were unnecessarily violent this week! We had this one experience when we were knocking doors and a man ripped my tag off of my coat and tried to run into his apartment. I put my foot in the door and he did not like that at all and continued to swear at us and then he shoved me. We waiting outside his door and knocked so i could get my badge back and he eventually came out and gave it back by like throwing it at me haha. He then yelled at us to leave and that he would call the cops. Another guy on the street told us he would fight us if we talked to him again. Most people are nice enough here but these are a few of the crazy experiences this week.
We were trying to decide where to go door knocking one day and we realized we've never knocked our own building. So we knocked on all our neighbors doors and we actually had tons of success!! Now its fun because we see some of our friends randomly.
Valentines day was this week! It was the one year mark since my mission call and the two year mark since i got into BYU. Time flies!! Two big events two years in a row! Im so thankful for BYU and for when i opened my mission call. But anyway valentines day was a fun day! A little hard to see everyone on the streets on dates and stuff but it was really pretty and everything was pink and red. Sweden loves valentines day for some reason. We went to a place called "Mister York" and got cheeseburgers for the holiday. I love all of you and i love Jesus!
Lots of Swedes were nice about my swedish this week which was a nice confidence booster, they are definitely just saying that but it was nice to hear😂.
We did service this week with one of our friends, we helped her clean a park around her house.
I was so shocked this week by how many people from different nationalities are here in Sweden! I met a handful of Ukrainians, Japanese people, indian people, a brazilian dude and tons of people from the middle east. Its so cool to get to know so many different people.
One thing I loved about this week was the snow melted!! Being down south is awesome. It rained and was really foggy all week but there was one day where the sun was out and it made me so happy. I cant wait for summer!
Okay this email was way longer than normal so i do not blame you if you didnt read it but i love and miss all of you and I hope you had a good week😃. Remember you are a child of God!
